Sometimes our minds are full with the lies we tell ourselves. We compare ourselves to others and miss the greatness about ourselves. How often does your mind fill up with the awful thief of comparison? You wonder how you can ever compare to HER… She is a great cook. SHE is a great mom. SHE always has her house picked up and her car sparkly clean. SHE is so fit and fab…ughhhhhh ! STOP THE MADNESS.
This week your challenge is to be mindful of YOUR greatness. Quiet your mind and become more mindful about who YOU are and how awesome YOU are. Make a list of your successes. What have you done, what a re you good at?
Be mindful of how beautiful you are individually and wonderfully made. Look in the mirror and compliment yourself on your favorite feature. Write a list of what you’ve accomplished over the last year. Think about all of the big and little successes. Heck just look at today what you’ve done. You got out of bed, you probably made yourself some breakfast, you probably got dressed, and that’s a pretty darn good start. J Some days your list may be this simple, and other days maybe it will be amazing; ran a marathon? Made a meatloaf? Snuggled with your favorite kiddo? There’s so many ways to look at how blessed we are in our lives. The trick is to stop comparing ourselves to others and to begin to be mindful of how amazing we are!
Let’s be mindful of what we do right this week and stop comparing ourselves to others. This challenge may be hard, but that’s just telling you that it’s very needed! I want to challenge you to be mindful of your SUCCESSES. What are your accomplishments? What can you give yourself a ‘high five’ on?
Quickly jot down some items right now that pop into your mind. Then throughout the week add to this list. On those days when you are feeling blue or wondering who you are, take a look at this list and remember: You Are Awesome! Look at all you’ve done…Woo Hoo
