This year our overall theme is becoming more MINDFUL when your mind is full. Last week I challenged you to sit and be still and do nothing for 5 minutes a day. This week your challenge is to become more intentional as you go through out your days. This week your challenge is to FOCUS on something positive at least once a day…
How many times have you opened up the fridge looking for the mayo and can NOT find it… Then your family member comes over and points it out to you and there it is RIGHT IN FRONT of your face… IT was there the whole time!!! This is how JOY works… It’s always, always, always there… But so often we are too busy looking for how things are going wrong and miss it altogether! I have often said that the magic in finding JOY daily is NOT hocus pocus magic, but it is FOCUS FOCUS magic. What we focus on we WILL find!
What if YOU decided what to focus on. Imagine sitting on a park bench and pointing your camera at the scene in front of you. YOU can decide what you want to take a photo of. Do you want to photograph the sweet moment between a mother and child? Do you want to focus your camera on the beautiful flowers on the side of the trail? Do you want to focus your view on the wind blowing through the trees? Or do you focus on the trash in the park? Do you focus on the pile of dog poop someone left behind? Either way you are sitting there on that bench and YOU can choose what to focus on. What to see. Will you sit in awe for a moment? Will you sit in disgust for a moment?
You’ve heard it a million times… JOY IS A CHOICE. So this week I challenge you to FOCUS on the positive. Choose to see what is RIGHT in any given experience you have throughout your day. I don’t care how crazy, scary, sad your days may be, I promise that if you FOCUS on finding the small, kind, lovely, good things, you WILL see those sprinkled throughout your tough days, and this my friend, is truly what can change our life from Stressed to BLESSED!
