Be WITH who you’re WITH
This week carrying o n the idea of being MINDFUL when our minds are FULL… Your challenge is about being intentionally present with others. How often are you at dinner with the family (or they’re all at the dinner table because you’re finishing one last item in the kitchen~ha) and then you notice half your family is on their phones…or the news is on the tv…etc. This week I challenge you to be WITH those you are WITH. So often we miss those who are not with us anymore and wish so badly to have more time together… And yet those who are with us, often fall to the wayside. We are often the least present with those we love the most, because we are so comfortable being ourselves with them… double edged sword I say!
I really am writing this one for myself. I am not going to lie. I am an iphone junkie! I am always checking social media, email and playing my words with friends. I run all my businesses virtually (my Good Carma Hand Stamping Jewelry, My You Got Joy life coaching and my newly added Front Porch Packages care packs for college kids) yes, I just shamelessly plugged my work! Haha. Truly though, I am often on my phone checking things out… so when my husband starts telling me a story or something, I’ve noticed that I’m only half listening. Then later I bring something up and he’s like, “yes, I told you that!” ooops! So this week I am accepting this challenge aggressively! EVERY time (I’m going to really try) that someone I love is WITH me and talking TO me, I am going t
o put down my phone, turn towards them, look them in the eyes and ENJOY our time t
ogether!! I am going to be intentional of our time together!
I challenge you the same…This week as you sit with a friend, or eat with your family, or walk with a neighbor, try to be fully present. Try to be mindful of your time together. Really notice them. Really appreciate your time together. Put down your phone. Empty your FULL mind for a moment and just really be…MINDFUL of this amazing blessing that is IN your life!!!
