This is the second week in my 52 week challenge. Each week I get a “word”‘ and then my challenge is to snap a photo. This week our word was “Shine”. One thing you should know, is I live in Texas. Big. Beautiful. Texas. I grew up in a Chicago suburb, then went to school at Marquette U in Milwaukee, WI. And I can certainly say — I. Hate. Cold. Winter. Days! Yep, I couldn’t wait to graduate and head south. Thankfully, my dreams came true and off to Texas did I flee.
Fast forward 21 years…I still hate cold days. Only now, cold to me is less than 68 degrees. The beauty is, living in Texas, we have mild winters. (Now granted, our summers are hotter than he//, but I don’t mind). I love that this weekend, the temps were in the mid 70’s and boy did our sun SHINE! When I got out of church on Sunday, I was embraced by the beautiful sunny day and warm breeze.
On our way home I knew that my weekly photo would happen. I knew with the glorious sunny day, that SHINE would appear. As I looked around, this photo is what caught my eye…
People still make fun of me because I am such a winter wimp, but after 22 years with frozen tootsies in the midwest – I gladly welcome warm winter days, with the sun ablazing!
