This week our word is COMMUNITY. What better photo to use then a community of cousins! After nearly 10 years of waiting to all be together at one time in one place, our family celebrated BIG for a wedding! My cousin got married which brought us all together. I love this photo of my mom (Grandma) with a slew of grandkids – all cousins!!! They had so much fun together and we can’t wait to all be together again!
A Community of Cousins
Actually, I found this week’s word quite intriguing. All week, I wondered, what is my community? We get our word of the week on Thursdays. So Thursday night, I wondered… is it the community of sweet seniors that my daughter and I volunteer with? On Saturday, I wondered, is it the community of families at the park with us? On Sunday I wondered, is it my church community? The community of high schoolers getting ready to embark on their confirmatio journey? On Monday, I wondered… is it the community of athletes on my son’s basketball team? On Tuesday, I wondered… is it my community of co-worders??? Each day I found myself blessed to notice how many communities are in my everyday life. But then I decided, my favorite community is one of love, laughter and lots of hugs… One of family. A big Italian family. My family. More specifically the family my kids are blessed with… lots of cousins! lots of love! lots of laughter! Yes, this community is one they’ll have all of their lives. I am still very close with my cousins and so it brings JOY to my heart to know that my kids will continue to grow closer in thier cousins community.
