Bring on the cake!!

Ahhh, the month of April brings wildfowers, sunny blue skies and most importantly and spectacularly MY birthday!  I will be turning 41 this year and I don’t mind at all.  So many of my friends fret about birthdays and aging and time going by, but not me.

My take on the whole birthday scene, is each day I am going to grow older anyways, so why not live it up on the one day a year when people want to bake me a cake and give me presents?  lol

Yes, I LOVE birthdays.  I love knowing that people will celebrate ME!  Is that wierd?  It’s just that as a woman, usually I’m celebrating everyone else all the time.  My wonderful kids, my amazing husband, my fabulous friends, my quirky family, my crazy co-workers… and the list goes on and on.

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE LOVE LOVE celebrating the amazing people in my life and I look forward to doing that daily…but… one time a year I want to claim “self” and say Hooray for me, bring on the cake!!!  🙂  Like I said, it’s not like I’m not still just one day older than the day before, but this day I get cake, I get singing, I get presents.  Hooray for birthdays.

My challenge to you is to look forward to the one day each year that the world wants to celebrate YOU.  Enjoy the attention.  Wear big sparkly jewelry.  Put on a brighter shade of lipstick.  Pull out all the stops and say THANK YOU!  I love birthdays… yep, I sure do.
