I am a very goal oriented person. I truly believe you have to know where you want to go so that you can get there. I can still remember in high school thinking I will move to Texas when I get older!! Ha. one of my first goals I didn’t even know I had. I remember a girlfriend used to visit Texas every spring break and come back all tan with cowgirl boots and say she was in Texas. I will live there, I thought….sure enough 6 years later I moved to Texas. and have been here over 21 years!!!
I love finding new ways to move myself forward. Recently I set a new goal for myself. A HUGE ONE!! I wanted to be able to RUN a 5k! Me??? Run??? hahahahhahahahahhahha 🙂 🙂

I started thinking about the word GOALS – and came up with my own little acronym
Getting Over All Limits = Success
Guess what?? I am currently in week 8 of a training program and tonight I ran for 28 minutes straight! TWENTY EIGHT minutes!!! Just 6 short weeks ago I remember thinking “3 minutes??? how can I run for 3 minutes straight?” and here I am today running for 28! I was so proud. I am not sure how I stumbled upon this program, but I remember seeing it back in January and feeling intrigued. Then I saw it again about 8 weeks ago. My friend’s daughter is doing it up in Pennsylvania – she is 9 years old. My niece in Midland starting running and posting her success on facebook. My friend here in Spring has been running and signed up for her first marathon (run k run). All of these runners inspired me. So one day I decided to do it.
I love that it sets me up 3 times a week with doable goals. This program wants me to succeed and it has given me the tools to do it. So each day I look at the plan and think… I. Can. Do. This. then I think “can I”?
All paths to all goals are totally mental and so are the obstacles we set in front of ourselves.
So this is it. This is the year I’ll run. I’ll run a 5k. I’ll run for 30 minutes. I’ll run.
I am Getting Over All Limits! I am pushing towards my GOAL. I am letting my mind tell my body what it CAN do not what it can’t. I am finding support to cheer me on. I am eating healthier to fuel my body. I am listening to great music. And I am taking one step at a time until this GOAL has reached Success.
