I love Mondays. Wait, did you read that right? Are you thinking “Mondays???? Don’t you mean Fridays???” No. Simply put, I love Mondays! Why? Because every Monday I wake up renewed with hope.
I get a kick out of facebook posts as the week goes by. First there are the posts that Monday comes too soon, what happened to the weekend. Then as the week progresses so do the posts about hooray it’s almost Friday. Then the Yippee the weekend-is-here posts… Then back to the oh-no-it’s-Monday posts.
Not me though. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE my weekends. I love the family time, the pancakes, the wonderful Sunday worship, the laid back napping afternoons and more… but come Monday morning I wake up with a sense of it’s a new week. Anything is possible.
Every Monday morning I start my “diet”! I’m convinced that this week will kick start me back into healthy habits. I’m going to drink my 64 oz of water. I’m going to eat my veggies and fruit, I’m going to pass on the junk food. I am going to cook healthy dinners and I’m going to go to the gym. Every Monday this is my mojo. And no matter how many times Monday comes, I’m always feeling hopeful and ready! Come Monday morning, nothing is impossible!
I also like that we all fall back into routine on Mondays. My husband heads to the office, the kids head off to school, I make it into the church for our weekly staff meeting. Everyone has a plan. We all have somewhere to be. I like to send off everyone with thoughts of making it a great week.
On Sunday nights as we are wrapping up our dinner conversation, I love to look ahead at what our week looks like. A brand new opportunity is upon us. How will we create this new week. What will we look for? What will we experience?
I truly believe we find what we are looking for. So as we set sail upon a new week, I challenge my family to look for fun adventures, new opportunities, great friendships, lots of laughter, new learnings. Let’s look at starting our week ready to find what we know is truly waiting for us… JOY! Let’s friend Mondays. If Monday was on facebook, I’d be a fan! And that my friends is my take on Mondays. (Tuesdays, now that’s a whole different story! ha ha)
