It’s all so relative, life… isn’t it? A week ago on Saturday we were all looking forward to school starting and having some space away from each other. Well, when I say “we”, I guess it was only me, who would admit it anyways. Now here we are the weekend AFTER school starts and you know what? It is so nice to be all together again.
Funny. I wouldn’t have expected it.
I guess after everyone getting back into their routines and having space away from each other, the tolerance level of brother & sister aggravations is slightly higher. We woke up this morning at a leisurely 8:30 a.m. After homemade pancakes (that I made, thank you very much), we got in the car and headed to swim practice. I was giggling in the parent room, b/c the whole time they were swimming, you could totally see Madi trying to keep up/beat her brother. When they got in the car, she admitted she was exhausted! This inter-family competition is hard work!
Once home, we did our daily backgammon tournament (which I lost!!! boo hoo-again with the inter-family competitiveness) and then the kids were off. Playing together for hours! Robert and I had some time to visit. We all had a nice day together. Lots of laughter.
Yes, it’s all so relative.
A little time away certainly does give the opportunity for a fresh start.
What can you take a little time away from? What has gotten to the “not enjoying it” stage in your life? Perhaps you need a little time away too.
