top 10 reasons birthdays rock!

Ok, so every year around this time, I can’t help but post my thoughts on birthdays! I absolutely LOVE birthdays. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… who wouldn’t love a day where it’s all about YOU. and cake. and presents. and singing. and your family doing special things for YOU.

I mean, who cares if you’re another year old…. I mean come on! CAKE! PRESENTS! haha.

So, here are my TOP 10 REASONS I LOVE BIRTHDAYS!!!!

10. Cake… My husband and kids work hard to make it, then we all get to sit around together and eat it! Speaking of cake, my husband made me the yummiest cake this year. Pineapple Lush cake. ooooo la la. This is the FIRST reason I love birthdays.

9. Lunch… I love birthday lunches with my girlfriends! Lots of laughs, stories, sharing, good food and joy abounds. It’s a for sure time for us all to get together… the gift of time! Nothing better!

8. Silly Songs…every year on my birthday my family calls me and sings the funniest, worst, silliest, most awesome happy birthday songs! Many times it’s on my answering machine, b/c I am out and about celebrating. I always save the message and giggle for the next six months as I re-stumble upon the message!

7. Facebook…Birthdays have exploded with JOY since I’ve started on facebook. Now each year I get so many awesome, well wishes from my “fb friends” that each time I get on, I just smile, smile, smile!

6. Packages. I love coming home and finding brown paper packages wrapped up in string…lol…on my front porch. Love travels far on my birthdays… always amazingly thoughtful gifts in those packages.

5. Twirling… yes, twirling is allowed on your birthday… sometimes with fists full of glitter!

4. Mom… I love thinking about my mom on my birthday and how she gave me the gift of life, love, strength, passion, and more. As a single mom raising 4 young kiddos she ALWAYS made my birthday special! sloppy joes! m&m’s in those thick green glasses…. memories!

3. Birthday hugs – It’s just fun giving hugs, and on my birthday, I go overboard!

2. Birthday cards – My sweet kids and hubs always make me the BEST homemade cards! The BEST!!! They make me laugh, cry and just burst with love!!!

…AND THE NUMBER 1 REASON I LOVE BIRTHDAYS IS…

1. Uninterrupted family time. Birthdays are the one night, where (as for now) my sweet family of 4 always spend the whole night together! Tonight after dinner we played cards for hours and laughed till we cried! such a wonderFULL, joyFULL, perfect celebration
