Wheeee! Let the fun begin! Today I post our first of fifteen challenges. Where should we start?? Actually, if you have heard me speak before or participated in this challenge in the last few years, you probably know where I think we should start. Before we begin, let me explain our challenge theme this year “`15 WEEKS OF LISTS“` I would guess that 90% or so of our participants own a smart phone, ipad, tablet or some other fun electronic device. This year I encourage you to create weekly lists on your device. Perhaps in the “notes” section… This way, you will have at your fingertips an easy access to things that you have written that will help shift you from blah to hurrah! J I love having a visual reminder of things that are important to me. Now, if you are of the 10% who does not have a smart phone, tablet etc… then I bet you have one of those groovy paper calendar organizers that keeps you going… so find a space in there to participate. Ok, so let’s begin.
Week 1:
What are you grateful for?
Your first challenge is to start a list of what you are grateful for, I ask that you begin by simply sitting down and just going for it. Write down everything you can think of right now that you are grateful for. When we PAUSE in life to give thanks, somehow in that moment of reflection, our world gets better. We have more. As you’ve probably heard me say before, it’s not magic – not hocus pocus—but it is intention -it is focus focus. What we focus on will always show first. So why not start focusing on all that is right with your life, with your body, with your family, with your job. What is right. What is good? What are you grateful for? Write, pause, reflect, and write some more. I usually say to aim for 50 things and then go bigger.
This week try to write at least 5 things a day that you are grateful for and see what begins to happen!
I once read that if you write down 5 things you are grateful for every day, in 2 months your life will be completely changed! Really??? Well then, I guess this is the perfect way to begin our first challenge. If we operate out of abundance and gratitude, life will continue to multiply those blessings in our lives and deplete our stress.
So remember, each day for the following week, somewhere, at sometime, write down 5 things you are grateful for. enJOY your week!
