First, let me wish each of you a Happy Thanksgiving. I am thankful that I am challenged each week to write a challenge for each of you. With the start of the holiday season officially upon us, your challenge this week may sound simple, but in truth, I bet it will challenge you. This week your challenge is to be in the MOMENT as much as possible. That means to stop…look…and listen to where you are right now.
I feel like there is a mad rush between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Stress is definately up! Every day when I drive home, I pass a house that has a days ’till Christmas sign in their yard. Which means every day, I have a minor little panic! Oh no! only XX more days. I have so much to do…then the stress quietly creeps in. So this week, every time I notice myself fast forwarding to how few days I left to get everything done, I plan to STOP….Look around and find something that I enjoy looking at. Listen to what sounds bring me joy (birds tweeting, dogs barking, wind blowing, music playing). Let your senses (eyes, ears, taste, touch, scent) knock some sense in you!
Remember the ol’ saying, yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift that is why they call it the present. This week really challenge yourself to be in the moment. Give yourself the gift of the present. Stop. Look around..Listen..be grateful for this very moment. enJOY!

Dinner is done, dishes in dishwasher, water thump, thump, thumping… I am thankful for automatic dishwashers! Outside on the swing, listening to the wind blow, watching the trees sway, anticipating the cold front that should be here soon. Can hear the sounds of joy and laughter of an after-dinner football game. I am thankful for so many things, so many special people in my life! I will try more often to ‘enjoy the moment’ and its gifts!
