Welcome to week two in our 15 week challenge! Tonight I was out walking my dog and it is (finally) a cool Texas night! My family was at the grocery store, so it was me, the dog, and my ipod. I put on a song I hadn’t heard before. I guess one of my kids have it on their list, it’s called Beautiful Things by Gungor. As I was listening to this new favorite! song, walking the dog on this glorious chilly (68 degrees! is chilly in my book) night I realized what a peaceful MOMent I was having. And then, in popped my idea for this weeks challenge.
A Comfort List. Remember, this year our challenges will be about list making. So often I feel like we are just moving through life in a trance, so I want to encourage us to pause and think… last week we discovered things in our lives, big & small, that we are grateful for. This week, I want to challenge you to make a list of things that bring you comfort. Knowing how to comfort yourself is self-empowering and energizes your soul to deal with whatever life hands you. It’s so important to know yourself. To be able to self-nurture; to pay attention to your needs, a way to celebrate your YOU. By truly knowing what gives you comfort and pleasure you have the fuel to get you through.
I’ll give you some prompts to think about this week, but first, pull out your list maker and start brainstorming… Think of comforts that appeal to your physical, emotional, spiritual and mental parts of your life.
