I try to keep open to ideas of what the next challenge will be each week in our Stressed to Blessed group. This week the answer was super clear. This week your challenge is to get outside of YOU and do something KIND for someone else daily…this week I was invited to two separate events happening… Both of these families are in my community and their stories have touched my heart. I am excited to wrap their KINDNESS celebrations into our weekly challenge.
Monday, October 6 would have been Katie Stay’s birthday. She and her family lost their lives in a terrible act of domestic violence. Katie was a very kind and giving woman. Her family asks that in her memory and on behalf of all those who have received service from her, you join in doing some acts of service for your family, friends, and community. Tuesday, October 7th Kelsey Jackowski would have turned 22. Kelsey is the sister of a good friend of my daughter. Kelsey lost her fight with cancer in 2011. Her family says “She was put here on earth to do amazing things……and she did. Our goofy girl loved to make people smile. She loved everyone and everyone loved her.” Her family would like for you to join them in a day of kindness. They say “She would love it! So simple, right? Just do something for someone else. It doesn’t have to be a big, giant gesture or cost a lot. Just be KIND to someone. Do something KIND. Be a blessing to someone.”
