This week your challenge is to disconnect!
What an odd way to get connected right? Well, as many of you know, last year my family had created a cool family ritual we called DETOX TUESDAYS. That meant every Tuesday in 2014 from 5 – 10 p.m. we did not allow any type of electronic in use. NO iphones. NO computers. NO tv. NO radio. NO electronics. And you know what we discovered??? We love being together. We laughed, we played, we TALKED. YES! 2 Teenagers and their parents TALKED. I loved Detox Tuesdays.
This past week I have heard a lot of really hard stories. It’s been filled with lots of stories of loss. It’s been a stressful week, I’m not going to lie. So I asked myself, what do I need to do to lower the stress and find more joy… That’s when this idea popped back in my head.
Your challenge is to take a few days, hours, minutes and just put the phone down. Turn off the computer, and sit and be. NO facebook. NO Instagram. NO snapchat. Just unplug from everyone else and PLUG into yourself and relax and enjoy. One of my favorite scriptures is BE STILL & KNOW. That’s what I want us to all do this week. Quiet the noise. Quiet the Social Media. Quiet the season premiers on tv. Unplug for a bit and find your center. Be still and know….Disconnect from technology this week and reconnect with those you love.
