Story….
Our word for the week. I love stories…reading them, sharing them, living them. I just finished reading a great book and it reminded of the power of stories. They can be an escape. They can open us to truth. They can connect us. They can move us forward. This week I invite you to reflect on story…
What is your story?
What stories comfort you, connect you, move you from stressed to blessed?
Who can you share your story with?
Whose story do you want to hear?
This week let’s dig into story…
AMQS
- thinking about AMQS challenge word “story” this weekend. How this word shifted a stressed to blessed moment for my family. We were at dinner after a LOOOOOONG day at Fiesta Texas Amusement Park. We were all very tired and very hungry. While waiting for food, I could tell the troops were getting stressed….so I started telling stories of when they were young. My 14 year old son used to wear his red or blue turtleneck every day for like 6 mons when he was four… WITH shorts and cowboy boots! We all laughed and reminisced on this story and others. Before we knew it, our food had arrived and we all enJOYed a lovely meal together. Yes, we were blessed by the time together and the story shared. THANKS Ann Marie for inspiring me
- The Stories We Tell
by Carrie NewcomerShe said, “Did that really happen?”
And I answered,
“Of course it did
or at least almost.
This is the way it should have
or might have
or needed to have
happened.
And to the best of my knowledge
And by my most reliable memories
This is how I understand it
To have been
And was
And still is.”She looked at me askance
Not sure whether to follow the question
Further down an obvious rabbit hole
Or to simply believe me,
And leave it at that,
Not pressing to know
if the story was real
Or merely true.
