I am not much of a sports enthusiast, although I do enjoy going to games and people watching. One sport I do enjoy watching in person is baseball. I think I love it because of the 7th inning stretch. I love that after sitting around for 6 innings we all stand up and stretch and sing at the top of our lungs. This weeks challenge is inspired by the 7th inning stretch since we are in our 7th week of challenges.
When people first sign up for different events and activities they have lots of excitement about beginning something new. Then towards the end they are excited because they see the light at the end of the tunnel… but often, somewhere in the middle, we lose steam and start to pale. So, this weeks challenge is to take a 7th inning stretch. We are going to stretch ourselves with daily recap challenges of our first six weeks. Each morning I will send a gentle reminder of what your daily focus is on. As I once heard, and still love, there is no magic in changing your attitude – it’s not “hocus pocus”, it’s” focus focus.” What are you focusing on? As we reach our 7 week lull, you will be reminded of what to focus on with a recap of our first 6 challenges.
I am hoping to help you stretch and awaken to JOY by remembering our weekly challenges on a daily basis. We don’t have one challenge this week, but 6! Are you up for it?
I thought this week would be a good time to help us to remember and be aware of our actions and attitudes. It is these actions that can bring us from stressed to blessed. Each morning we have a choice. What are we going to do? What are we going to look for? What are we going to focus on.
Come on, now altogether…
Take me out to the ball game…
1st inning (Friday) – Blueprints blessing – think of 25 things to be thankful for TODAY and write them down and email to yourself!
2nd inning (Saturday)- Pay it Forward – Send 3 email appreciation letters
3rd innings (Sunday) – Soul treats – treat yourself to ONE thing today!
4th inning (Monday) – Give a GEM – give someone you love ALL of your attention at some point today.
5th inning (Tuesday) – Simplify – pick one area in your bedroom to declutter! (nightstand, sock drawer, shower, makeup drawer etc)
6th inning (Wednesday) – Takin’ in the good! – Drink 8 glasses of water today and eat all your fruits and veggies!
Good luck all. Let me know which of these is the easiest for you and which one you struggled with the most.
