EMPTY
So many of the messages I hear have to do with filling up…
Fill up our time with activity
Fill up our homes with stuff
Fill up our bellies with food
Fill up our glasses with drink
Fill up our brains with technology
This week I want to try to live with some emptiness.
Instead of pulling out my phone as soon as I have a minute, I want to let the minute pass.
Instead of turning on the radio as soon as I get in the car, I want to be quiet.
Instead of grabbing a bowl or cereal or cup of yogurt as soon as I feel a little hungry, I want to feel the emptiness for a bit.
I want to see what I am making space for,
As I leave some empty room in my body, my mind, my heart, my soul.
EMPTY
