Part two of starting a new habit. Watch this short video to learn more.
This video takes a minute to explain to you how habit tracking works when trying to start a new habit. With the fall rapidly approaching and school back in session, now is a great time to get back into some things you’ve been wanting to do.
Have you been trying to get into the habit of something healthy? Something good for you? Something different?
Are you ready to start working out, eating right, meditating etc.?
Starting a new habit can be difficult, and maintaining it even more so.
One of my favorite techniques to use when trying to start a new habit is a common habit tracker. Basically you put a checkmark every day you complete your habit.
The idea is, As you see the check marks start to add up, you don’t want to break the chain and miss a day, which motivates you to complete another day.
James Clear of Atomic Habits, talks about how Jerry Seinfeld used this tracking system when trying to become a better comedian. Every day he wrote a joke he would mark it on his calendar.
After a while, the chain of checkmarks alone can inspire you to not break the chain and keep on going.
It is a simple yet powerful tool.
What habit would you like to start? The time is now!!
I hope this message will inspire you to start back at a healthy habit. Comment with what habit you are going to start.
Me personally, I’m going to start walking every day again!
Remember, when you change your mindset, you change your life and you find more joy.
